Recently single and gonna live it up. I am not good with following the "rules" anyway. So a couple of weeks ago I was visiting my brother. When I returned to my car not only was there a ticket but there was also a boot on my tire! Guess that's what you get when you do not read the fine print on the parking sign. I called the parking authorities and found out I would have to wait awhile for them to come to remove the boot. Nothing else to do but go to the restaurant on the corner and get a drink at the bar! This is where I met him. We chatted and he paid for my drinks. He offered me PDA cards and such and gave me his number. When I figured it was time to go I politely gave him a kiss on the cheek.
For some reason I kept his card on my dresser. About a month passes, with that card sitting there, staring at me. Then I figured - "what the hell - I deserve to be wined and dined!". Oh did I mention he was loaded? Real estate. I picked up the phone and called the guy! Dinner plans were set. Now it has been about a month and I was a bit tipsy when I met him, so naturally, I was freaking about not being able to recognize him. Dressed in my little blue dress and pewter sandals with two inch heels I was ready to play the role of the young trophy date. I walked into the restaurant and felt this old, heavy guy glaring at me - well I was showing some skin - so this was a natural thing to occur. Nervously, I thought - "is that him??", "was that really what he looked like?", "should I go over to him or pretend I don't see him?". He saved me from my confusion by calling me over - "oh it was him". Oh boy - what have I gotten myself into?
We had a drink at the bar. Me, legs crossed shaking. Him, leaning over closer and closer. "Dinner?" he asks. Well of course it was 7pm and I was hungry and I had to be polite and not run off. "Inside or outside?", he asked? Inside of course! I really did not need to see anyone I knew pass by.
And so it began! Champagne, oysters, fancy Chilean wine, swordfish, port and more port. Broadway tickets were offered, not only for me but for the entire group of people I had plans with Thursday instead of being able to see him again. A trip to Budapest was discussed. What shape diamonds did I prefer. My favorite stone? This guy was ready to marry me, have me quit my job, work for him if I needed to do anything - oh and of course have his babies. It was fate he told me.
I kissed him in the car. Goes to show, I guess I would kiss anyone when given the right amount of alcohol. Oh and I think we have plans for Saturday...
